What is the annual showcase? Do I get to be involved?

At the end of each year students who undertake Performance Class Options are involved in a showcase of their hardwork over the year in the form of the Funky Butts Showcase. Students perform a routine from each dance discipline studied and every student is involved in performing in the finale.  The end of year Showcase is the highlight of the dance year for Performance Class students and our previous Showcases have received rave reviews from students, mothers, fathers, grandparents , friends and other dancers. Funky Butts works hard to prepare all students in ability and confidence for the end of year Showcase so that they are not scared or nervous when performing. Professionally filmed and edited DVDs of this performance are available for only $35.

What are examinations / Assessments? Are they compulsory? Can my child take part?

At FBMDC we provide a range of dance class options to suit different students interests and needs. for students who are interested we run examination classes where students work towards yearly examinations or assessments in their chosen style by reputable dance syllabui. FBMDC teachers the Australian Dance Institute's VETAB Accredited Australian Dance Assessment Program (Classical Ballet), Australasian Dance Association's Jazz Addict Jazz - Ballet and Broken Beat Hip Hop syllabui and the Glenn Wood Tap syllabus.

Will my young child be gyrating their hips and dancing around on stage doing steps inappropriate to their age group?

NO! At FBMDC kids stay kids. We do not believe in young children performing sexual and provocative moves and ensure that all students learn moves and routines appropriate to their age group.

What is the Funky Butts Dance Team?

Was a group that existed prior to Performance Classes being offered? Now in Performance classes all students get the chance to perform! For those interested in extra performance and competition opporutnities we offer Solo and Duo classes also!

What is the Funky Butts Interstate / International Dance Tour?

Senior Students who have shown dedication and commitment in their classes consistently over their dancing years are offered a place in the Funky Butts Modern Dance Centre Interstate or International Dance Tour. In January 2008 selected students travelled to the Gold Coast to perform at Dream World Theme Park. Students and their accompanying family members receive discounted accomodation, theme park entries and flights as well as a dancing opportunity and experience that will provide memories that will last a lifetime. Students have the option of being involved in fundraising towards their Interstate Dance Experience.  Here are some comments from 2008 Interstate Tour students about their experience:

What costs are involved in Kids dancing?

At Funky Butts we are very aware of the different costs involved in kids sporting activities

and aim to keep all of our dancing fees and costs as affordable as possible. We also want parents to be 100% aware of all costs involved so parents can plan ahead for costs rather than just becoming aware of them as they pop up. For all students yearly Registration and Term fees will obviously be payablle but other costs to consider include:
